Thanks for checking out the north apartment in this Wolf duplex, located a few hundred yards from Rocky Mountain National Park’s boundary. It’s clean, modern and cozy — a reflection of the owner’s Scandinavian heritage. There’s all new kitchen, furnishings, flooring and paint, plus a comfortable Queen bed a great TV loaded with streaming options.

The owners worked through the winter of 2019 to remodel the unit to create a peaceful and comfortable place for your mountain vacation.

In the summer time, the best part of the unit is the incredible view from the small deck off the front door. The duplex is surrounded by mountains, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of them from the front deck. There’s a nice picnic table and BBQ on the grill for afternoon and evening cookouts.

In the winter, when the landscape is blanketed with snow, the large windows allow you to feel outside while you’re sitting in the comfortable couch sipping warm hot chocolate.

The home features one bedroom with a comfortable memory-foam mattress to ensure a good night sleep after a long day of hiking. Attached is a large closet for your gear, plus a full bathroom complete with shower/tub, original wood siding from the 1940s, and a brand new toilet, vanity and medicine chest. Blackout shades ensure privacy and a sound night’s rest, but if you like to wake up with the sunrise, you can leave them up and close the sheer curtains and watch the room light up in the mornings.

There’s a brand new 44″ 4K smart television with Roku, plus a strong a mesh WiFi network with no dead zones.

The galley kitchen has everything you need to cook: a full stove and oven, fridge and freezer, and assortment of pots and pans, and super sharp knives (dull ones are a pet peeve!). There are cutting boards, wine glasses, coffee mugs, and a french press so you can get your caffeine fix before you enjoy the park.

The space features a full size washer and dryer that you are free to use as well.

A FEW REVIEWS

This cabin in Estes Park is great. It is so clean and light and airy. Lots of other cabins up there are pretty dark and enclosed. Lots of happy light, the bed is good and the area is very quiet.

Great location! Close to Rocky mountains national park. Nice place to relax. Through the windows you can see a beatiful view of forest. A lot of privacy. Super clean house. You can find all neccessary things. Would defently come back and reccomend to my friends!

You want to stay here! Everything is perfect & clean. It’s near Estes Park, but far enough away to still have that feeling of being secluded near the Rockies. Be sure to get up early and watch the sunrise come through the front window. Also enjoy all the ground squirrels and wildlife that pass through in the evenings!
Kevin

We loved having the best of both worlds: a bit of seclusion while being close to everything we wanted to explore. The place is sparkling clean and super cozy! Everything you need to feel at home is there! There’s even a little area outside to sit and soak in the scenery!

NOTE BEFORE BOOKING

4WD in Winter

4WD/AWD are recommended from October to May. If you arrive during a winter storm and can’t make it the last few hundred feet to the home, you’ll need to ferry your stuff by hand, park at our other home two blocks away, and walk back. This weather happens a few times a year.

Shared Walls

This is a duplex, and both sides are short term rentals. The only shared space, however, is the driveway. The wall separating the units is sound insulated, but please be respectful and don’t make a ton of noise. Everyone is here to relax!

Seclusion

There are other rental units nearby in my historic cabin neighborhood. If you are looking for complete seclusion and and isolation in the woods, this isn’t your best bet. This is a great location though, near town with the National Park in the back yard.

Bears

Because this home borders the National Park, the bears and other animals don’t need to venture through civilization to explore it. Do NOT leave anything smelly in your car at night! Bears are known to break in and cause a lot of damage.
