  • Walk to river & National Park
  • Deck with BBQ
  • Family friendly
  • Abundant wildlife

Enjoy your vacation at this peaceful home near the Big Thompson River, just a short walk from Rocky Mountain National Park. You’ll have access to 12 acres of shared wooded grounds, a playground and picnic area, plus a quarter-mile of private river frontage that is part of the neighborhood HOA.

The Aspen Tree Cabin is light, bright, and spacious, with vaulted ceilings and lots of windows to enjoy the views. The Big Thompson River is just fifty yards away. There are great mountain views right off the deck, where you can begin your mornings with coffee as you plan your hikes and watch the hummingbirds. If you’d like, you can walk along the river near the house straight into Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s an easy flat hike to Moraine Park, one of the prime wildlife viewing areas in the national park.

If you fish, you’ll enjoy the quarter-mile of private river frontage just steps away. Equipment is not providdd, but there are multiple outfitters in town that will rent out gear. Cook up your trout on the grill and dine outside at the picnic table on the deck.

The kitchen has bakeware, pots and pans, and a full complement of utensils. If you don’t feel like cooking, downtown Estes Park is only 2.5 miles away, and our favorite restaurants — Bird and Jim and the iconic Rock Inn Mountain Tavern — are both within 1.5 miles.

On the main level you’ll find a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and a comfortable living room where you can watch TV or enjoy a fire in the moss rock fireplace. The main floor also features a bedroom and bathroom, plus a laundry facility you’re free to use.

BEDROOMS

  1. The main floor bedroom features a king bed and attached full bathroom.
  2. This bedroom on the second floor features vaulted ceilings, a queen bed, and great views of Eagle Cilff Mountain. It’s connected to Bedroom 3 with an attached bathroom.
  3. This second floor bedroom, has a queen and two single beds. The trundle can sleep an adult, and it’s a great option for young children not quite ready for a ‘big bed.’ This room has its own TV with DVD player, and features a vaulted ceiling and great views.

OUTDOOR LIVING

This home has ample opportunities for outdoor living. There’s a great deck on the front of the house, so you can grill and listen to the sounds of the Big Thompson. The home is in a family friendly HOA, which has an outdoor picnic area and even a playground.

A FEW REVIEWS

This is a very lovely cabin in a quiet neighborhood. Very close to town and to the National Park. Pretty views of mountains! Beds were very comfortable. Lots of space. We received very quick responses to any questions we had.

Allison

The perfect getaway. The views are spectacular. You’re looking at snow topped mountains from every room. The neighborhood is a nice quiet place to stay and a short drive from town. The cabin has everything you need for cooking big meals or warming up leftovers. It’s very clean and nice appliances. The decor is so cute and perfect for a mountain cabin.

Maggie

Absolutely perfect! We spent Thanksgiving in this beautiful cabin. We could not have asked for a better place to stay while in Estes Park. We had plenty of room for 5 adults and two children. We had plenty of hot water and the cabin stayed nice and warm. The views were outstanding and we were lucky to get snow.
Dana

The owner and crew were extremely hospitable and their response time was incredible. If you have any questions, they are basically answered before you ask! The cabin is nestled right into the hill and there is a great trailhead right across the street (perfect for beginner hikers) that we took a different route on every day.

NOTE BEFORE BOOKING

Bears

Because this home is about a half a mile from the National Park boundary, wildlife abounds — including bears. Do not leave anything with odor in your car. Bear break-ins are not uncommong and are extremely expensive.

Estes Park is an extremely dry and arrid environment. This is a strict no smoking property — not inside the house or outside the house. There is also a burn ban, so you cannot make campfires anywhere.

Neighborhood

By booking, you are agreeing to the house and neighborhood rules: no pets, no RVs, no motorhomes, no motorcycles, no open flames, quiet hours from 9:30PM to 8AM, 15mph on HOA roads, and absolutely no smoking anywhere (not inside, not outside, and not even in the neighborhood!).
